South Florida Food & Drink Events This Week: Food Trucks, Brewery Battle, and More
Might as well bid adieu to those resolutions pertaining to cutting calories and saving dough. This week is filled with food truck gatherings, beer bashes, and (somewhat) novel ways to drink and dine. After the jump, find food- and drink-related events this week in Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Food truck rally in Hollywood
The weekly food truck rally at Arts Park in downtown Hollywood is 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday. There's no cost to attend; bring cash for the trucks. This week's lineup includes regulars like Dolce Gourmet Cupcakes, Ms. Cheezious, Mr. Good Stuff, Nacho Bizness, and Palate Party, plus many others.
All day on Monday, Havana Hideout in Lake Worth offers Beer Bingo. Spell out the word "beer" with any four beers on your card and get a fourth beer free. The bingo cards are also free.
Singles event at The Mexican
Know what makes it easier to meet a new person? Tequila. The Mexican in Boca Raton is hosting a singles networking happy hour from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Singles in their 20s to 50s are invited to attend. The cost is $10, cash only, at the door. Admission includes one house margarita, chips and salsa, and 20 percent off your entire food bill. Bring a business card and drop it in the hat for a chance to win a bottle of tequila.
Alliteration is good news when it means cheap eats. Uncle Julio in Mizner Park celebrates Taco Tuesday with $1 tacos all day. The deal is good on beef or chicken/soft or crispy tacos. The discounted price applies to dine-in orders only.
The gloves are off for Tap 42's Tuesday night Brewery Battle, which pits Stone Brewing Co. against Bell's Brewery. The kegs will be tapped at 7 p.m. sharp and the lineup includes many popular brews and several hard-to-find varieties.
Dining in the Dark at SoLita
SoLita Italian Restaurant and Parlor Lounge in Delray Beach has brought back its Dining in the Dark promotion, offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights at 8 p.m. A three-course meal is $59 per person, plus drinks, tax, and gratuity. Reservations are required.
Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project
The Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Register online to participate in the beach cleanup project, sponsored by the wine company.
Cozy up to a seasonal S'Mores Party at YOLO in downtown Fort Lauderdale on Thursday evening. The weekly party is 6 to 9 p.m. on the restaurant's outdoor patio. The cost is $8 per guest, and there are special thematic drinks available for purchase as well.
Feast in the Park
The first Feast in the Park is Thursday night at Gaines Park in West Palm Beach. The action is 5 to 9 p.m. and the lineup (subject to change) includes about a dozen trucks like Crazydilla, On the Slide, Veggie Xpress, and Lucille's on Wheels. There will be a DJ on premises and there's no cost to attend.
