The Office to Make New Year's Debut
The Office will open the New Year in Delray, and we don't mean Steve Carell.
We do mean Mark Militello and David Manero, the original Mango Gangster and creator of Vic & Angelo's and DeVito South Beach, who will debut their first collaboration in January in the Atlantic Avenue site once home to Louie Louie Too.
The contemporary, "reinterpreted" gastropub, whose menu is
described as "classic American comfort food with global influences,"
was designed by Manero's interior designer wife Lynn, delivers a
comfy-chic, library-esque feel with caramel leather banquettes, beveled
mirrors, two-tone herringbone pattern wood floor, mahogany bar with
Philippe Starck-inspired metal stools, ethanol fireplace and vintage
brass mailboxes that double as wine lockers.
There will be
both indoor and outdoor seating for diners to dig into dishes like the
"secret recipe burger," a Prime meat patty served with Baby Gem
lettuces and heirloom tomatoes, as well as grass-fed short ribs,
braised pork belly with tomatillo salsa, roasted beef marrow with
parsley-caper salad and spicy Asian chicken wings. More than 40 craft
beers will be on tap, along with 200 wines by the bottle and another 40
by the glass.
It may just give "going to the office" a whole new meaning.
