Robots are meant to serve mankind. Nobody knows this better than the people at the Japanese brewery Asahi, who invented a robotic tap that can pour six "perfect" beers simultaneously, taking only 12 seconds and doing it without any waste or specialized labor--or human beings. Amsterdam Pays Alcoholics With Beer

Amsterdam knows how to motivate its citizens. In an effort to clean up the streets and to reduce anti-social behavior among roving packs of public park boozers, the city funds the Rainbow Foundation project, a program that pays alcoholics to clean up trash. For a days work, the ad hoc waste collectors receive 10 euros (about 13 bucks), a half of a packet of rolling tobacco and five beers: two at the beginning of their shift, two at lunch and one after work. Ah, the beginning stage of a veritable beerocracy.
