Where to Party for Thanksgiving Eve 2012 in South Florida
It's a given that Wednesday, November 21, is going to be a non-stop party. After all, Thanksgiving Eve is one of -- if not the -- biggest bar night of the year. While you're pretty much guaranteed to find a crowd (and lots of college kids) where ever you go, there are a few places in Broward and Palm Beach counties that are planning a little something extra. After the jump, find a roundup of pre-Thanksgiving parties, because what would Turkey Day be without a little hangover.
19th Annual Cranberry Jam at Bimini Boatyard
If your college kid days are long past, the Young Professionals for Covenant House and Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale host a pre-Thanksgiving bash that's catered to grownups. A $30 cover charge (it's $25 if you pre-pay) gets you two drinks, appetizers, and entertainment. The party is 7 to 10 p.m. at Bimini Boatyard in Fort Lauderdale.
The night club that shocked Clean Plate Charlie with its non-cheesiness is doing Thanksgiving Eve all classy-like with "Models and Bottles" featuring a sexy lingerie show. DJ RZ SPINZ will be getting things going on the dance floor and there will be a live percussion show.
The Blue Martini bars in Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton typically host a ladies' night on Wednesdays and this week will be no exception. The Fort Lauderdale bar will offer free wine tasting at the door for women, with giveaways and drink specials continuing through the night. Both bars will have music and entertainment.
The Rocco's Tacos in Boca Raton is celebrating its third-year anniversary on Wednesday night from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. The party will throw down with live music by The Edge, a DJ, mariachi band, and lots of booze and dancing. Margaritas are $7 and pitchers will be $20, and Dos Equis are $4. Get a free shot of Patron every time owner Rocco Mangel is on the bar doing his "tequila dance."
Living Room inside the W Fort Lauderdale Hotel
The Living Room bar in the luxe W Fort Lauderdale will have live music from 7 to 10 p.m. and DJ Danny Stern from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. There's no cover to get in and valet parking is $5 with validation. Call for a table reservation; 954-414-8300.
