West Palm Beach hip-hop team Jabrjaw & DJ Dee Dubbs' infectious collaboration "Songs Like These" outlines their musical methods succinctly. Over a bit of vintage soul chopped up and layered with impressive scratching by Dubbs, Jabrjaw proclaims: "We make it happen, causing action on the scene/So relax, take a rest while we rescue your dreams." For many South Florida hip-hop enthusiasts, this dream is realized in the area's burgeoning new independent label, Footwork4Self, which is partly owned by the duo.

Saturday's performance celebrates the release of a new 12-inch single, "Funk Keeps Banging"/"Barley, Malt, & Hops," which is a taster for Jabrjaw & DJ Dee Dubbs' upcoming full-length, Eastern Specific. Also on the bill is Boston rapper Reks, whose "Hennessy" soaks Arrested Development's "Tennessee" in cognac. In addition to a selection of local talent filling out the night, a one-on-one b-boy battle with cash-money prizes launches at 10 p.m.
