Other than fast food, where else can you feed yourself with one dollar? Probably not in many other restaurants.
Morton’s the Steakhouse tries to answer at least part of that question by offering filet mignon steak sandwiches for only a buck on August 13.
It’s just a little deal Morton’s is doing to celebrate National Filet Mignon Day, the day in which homage is paid to tender cuts of beef. The filet mignon is considered one of the tenderest cuts of beef, coming from the very end of the tenderloin muscle in livestock. The restaurant isn’t open long either, only five hours — from 5 to 10 p.m.
The grub isn’t normally of the inexpensive variety at an upscale chain steak house like Morton’s. A dinner for two will easily run $100. Yelpers give Morton’s four dollar signs — expensive.
But on Morton’s’ dollar steak sandwich day, $10 can easily feed two people. The sandwiches are petite, but there’s no limit per order. Of course, restaurants could always run out of supplies.
The sandwiches are served all day from open to close at all Morton’s across the U.S., including restaurants in Palm Beach and Broward counties. There are at least five locations across South Florida, one in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and Fort
The deal seemed to be really popular last year, so be prepared for a long wait. But make it worth your while: Get as many as you can.
