Nick Cannon Is Your 2015 Winterfest Boat Parade Grand Marshal

In the grand tradition of such notable celebrities like Tracy Morgan and Jim Belushi, Nick Cannon has been named the 2015 grand marshal of the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade.

Last year’s grand marshal, Flo Rida, announced his successor during a press conference Monday.

Cannon, who has made his name as a multi-faceted performer, rap perm actor, producer and comedian, is also the chairman of TeenNick, Nickelodeon’s television network. Cannon is also host of America’s Got Talent on NBC and has been called “one of the most recognizable personalities in teen media” by the New York Times.

Oh, and he was once married to Mariah Carey.

As this year’s Grand Marshal, Cannon, 35, will lead the Parade on Saturday, December 12, along the New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale kicking off at 6:30 p.m.

This year’s theme of the event called the greatest show on H2O, will be “Fairytales Afloat.”

“It’s important that you’ve got somebody that gets it,” said WInterfest president and CEO Lisa Scott Founds. “That waterway is going to rock with him.”
