Last weekend, a Delray Beach hit-and-run shattered the mixed martial arts community. On Sunday morning, Jordan “Pretty Boy” Parsons was struck by a Range Rover while crossing the street in Delray Beach. It was a hit-and-run. The 25-year-old MMA featherweight prospect was rushed to Delray Beach Medical Center. Parsons underwent several surgeries and part of his right leg was amputated.
Unfortunately, Parsons succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday. The news was devastating to Parsons’ teammates on Blackzilians, an MMA team that trains at Jaco Hybrid Training Center in Boca Raton. After the accident, Parsons’ teammates had started an online fundraiser for medical expenses. It has since been updated to become a funeral fund. In three days, 647 people donated more than $35,000.
On social media, the team posted yesterday: “It is with an incredibly heavy heart we say goodbye to our brother, friend and teammate, Jordan Parsons. Life is so short and fragile; it can be taken away in an instant. We’ll continue to Dream Big for you.”
