How do adults play Rock, Paper, Scissors and look cool while doing it? On Thursday, ArtServe, South Florida’s premier arts service organization, takes over the nostalgic kid’s game and redefines it for its own purpose. The event, named after the hand game, will blend the music of local musicians, the two-dimensional creations of local artists, and the fashion designs of local designers. All the artistic creations will be laid out from 6 to 8 p.m. for your perusal and opinions.

While you’re looking around, make sure to stop and let yourself be serenaded by Cuban musician Elften Torres. He’s big in the Cuban arts community and will not only be there to please your eardrums but also to critique the musicians’ work. Food and drinks will be provided to attending patrons at ArtServe (1350 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale). No cover. Call ArtServe at 954-462-8190, or visit artserve.org.

Thu., Sept. 16, 6 p.m., 2010
