This winter Las Olas Riverfront is looking to the past to create a future for itself. As of February 6, the Riverfront features a weekly Farmers’ Market (300 SW First Ave., Fort Lauderdale, 954-522-6556), celebrating the era when farmers and craftspeople would traverse the New River, bringing their products to trade. The market includes vendors supplying fresh produce, flowers, and plenty of snacks and takes place every Sunday. It could be a terrific way for this outdoor mall to gain a local following — after all, nothing attracts hip, modern shoppers more than a good ol’ country market.
