For many, the importance of having a good bartender at one’s disposal rests somewhere between having an expert family doctor and an honest mechanic. You instill your trust in them for their sage-like advice, decent pour capabilities, and, on more nights than you’d care to remember, your home address, debit card, and car keys. So it’s only fitting that once in a while, you’d want to see these bartenders test their skills at the craft to ensure their expertise. Friday’s Bartender Bash at Trattoria Bella Cibo (5801 Margate Blvd., Margate) will do just that as bartenders Remy Brady and Kristi Simmons go head to head with vodka ice luge shots, shooter battles, blindfolded drinking contests, and Jell-O shot competitions. It will be a reunion of sorts for the two, who first met while bartending at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino a couple of years back. Counter all of the booze with a complimentary buffet, door prizes, and discounts for fellow in-the-biz types. The bash runs from 6 to 11 p.m. No cover.
