This is a follow-up letter to — OK, first off, I’ll admit that I was acting pissy in the last letter. But, come on, why can’t I have a true Santa sighting? I asked you last year to fly over BeachPlace on Fort Lauderdale Beach, and you were a no-show. But this year, I’ve found a much better spot — one you can’t possibly decline. You know that bar Roxy’s Pub on Clematis Street in West Palm Beach? I know you’re like 5,000 years old, but this place has been around for 75 years. Well, they opened a rooftop bar, Sky 309, last month. Can you believe this is West Palm’s only major rooftop bar? That’s one reason I chose this location for your fly-by — because I’m not going to celebrate Christmas like a Michigander, all nice and cozy indoors. The other reason is, well, I just want to be on a freakin’ rooftop sipping on a martini. You’ll know you’ve reached it when you see a 7,500-square-foot space that’s all island-themed, with palm trees and waterfalls and wood-and stone-framed banquettes and stone-wall seating too. I’ll be at Sky 309 tonight, tomorrow, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and the day after Christmas just for good measure. They don’t charge a cover, and happy hour is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday. Find Sky 309 at Roxy’s at 309 Clematis St. in West Palm Beach, Santa. If you need to, call 561-296-7699, or visit 309clematis.com. Yours truly, Mickie Centrone.
