For a catch phrase to make it past the 15-minute mark, it has to be
succinct and easy to remember and have the right person deliver it.
That’s why even though it’s been more than 30 years since the final
Good Times episode, Jimmie Walker is still known for those three
syllables his character J.J. Evans made famous: dy-no-mite! Nowadays,
Walker’s still a busy man, touring the country some 40 weeks a year
on the standup circuit and shootin’ the breeze on late-night
television. If you’re part of Generation Z and have no idea who he
is, do yourself a favor and watch Good Times on TV Land. You can do
that on an iPhone, right?
Jimmie Walker performs at 9:30 p.m. every Friday in November at
Seminole Casino of Hollywood (4150 N. State Road 7, Hollywood). He is
also emceeing the casino’s Dynomite Dollars Game Show on Thursdays
and Fridays. Admission is free. Call 954-961-3220, or visit
seminolehollywoodcasino.com.

Fridays, 9:30 p.m. Starts: Nov. 12. Continues through Nov. 26, 2010
