Join Norm Allen Jr., director of African Americans for Humanism as he discusses the benefits of a secular life. He proposes that religion instills “Pie in the Sky, by and by, for those who accept submission,” and that science, medicine, reason and reasonableness, and practical ethics should be the mantra for the modern African American. In short – Allen believes the whole “meek shall inherit the Earth” thang is a crock. The lecture is free, and will be held in the main Library, room 425. The event is being sponsored by the Center for Inquiry.
