Zagat gave Bistro Zenith (3011 Yamato Rd., Boca Raton) an “excellent” rating for its “eclectic American” food, but has anyone paid attention to the bar in this place? Manager Brian Kirk says that they have a healthy 58-bottle-long wine list, sake and champagne, “more vodkas than I can count, a fair amount of single-malt scotches, and we recently brought in eight different single-barrel bourbons.” It looks like the chefs have found their way into the liquor cabinet this week, and tonight the restaurant dishes up a “five-course tequila tasting and dinner.” Start off with Cosmopolitan cocktails made not with vodka but with Patron Silver tequila. That’s followed by sea salt- and lime-seared yellowfin tuna (paired with a Patron Repasa margarita), an island-spiced Colorado lamb chop (plus a sample of Pyrat XO Reserve rum), shrimp and lobster ceviche (accompanied by Patron Citronge), and tequila orange-glazed duck confit (with Patron Anejo) – and then washed down with a dessert of tequila espresso-spiked chocolate lava cake and a taste of Patron XO Café. All that for $40 – which includes tax and gratuity. Yum. Call 561-637-4441, or visit www.livingfla.com.
