Here’s the deal: If you’re a Broward County person, you’ve been here for 12 months or more, you’re at least 18 years of age, and you can prove that you’re a practicing artist, there is no reason you should not soon be bathing in your fellow taxpayers’ money.
Show up to the Main Library’s Cybrary Computer Lab at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday for a workshop brought to you by the Broward County Cultural Division. You’ll learn about the Creative Investment Program – also known, apparently, as the Mini Grant Program – through which eligible individuals who apply before June 1 could well get $2,000 for being artsy. (The Cultural Division insists that only two kinds of art shall be awarded by the CIP – “exhibits” and “performances” – but really, anything that’s not a performance is almost definitionally an exhibit, so you’re good to go.)
The Main Library is located at 100 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-357-7530, or visit broward.org/library.

Tue., May 8, 5:30 p.m., 2012
