Lemonade Stands Sprout Up in Hollywood To Fight Childhood Cancer

Every year, employees of global tech firm PerkinElmer team up and run lemonade stands for a day. They’re not just playing hooky. They’re raising awareness and money by teaming up with Alex’s Lemonade Stands, a 501(c)3 charity that helps kids with cancer.
Back when she was only four years old, Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004) had an idea: set up a lemonade stand, make some money, find a cure for cancer. That was 11 years ago. Since then Alex’s Lemonade Stands has raised more then $35 million.
This Wednesday, January 26, 25 lemonade stands will pop up at Hollywood businesses.
