Sure, it’s been a ho-hum few years for Florida Panthers fans, but with an invigorated new lineup and all-star goalie, Roberto Luongo, back behind the net, the future looks promising for Cats fanatics this season. Since returning to the Panthers in March, Luongo has been racking up the records. In October, this living legend moved past Patrick Roy in NHL career shots and passed another Panthers’ great, John Vanbiesbrouck, for the 13th spot on the all-time victories list, with 375 career winners. With Luongo holding down the fort and the Panthers’ exciting troupe of forwards — a trio consisting of Aleksander Barkov, Sean Bergenheim, and Brad Boyes and known as the “Killer B’s” — shelling out points, expectations for the 2014-15 season are high. Florida did not have much luck against the Calgary Flames last year, losing on both occasions, but hope to have their number Saturday.
