In its 20-plus years of touring, writing hundreds of songs, and performing with an array of musical legends, Donna the Buffalo has garnered a literal herd of followers. The Herd — as the group’s band of devotees are known — will migrate to downtown Fort Lauderdale on Friday night for a performance by the well-traveled Americana band. Expect to see some twirling (possibly fueled by earlier toking) on the dance floor as the audience grooves on Donna the Buffalo’s blissed-out mix of rock, folk, country, reggae, roots, and zydeco. Though the Erie Times has said of the group’s live performances, “They stick to a pattern,” key song collaborators Jeb Puryear and Tara Nevins shun set lists, so a few surprises are likely in order.
Donna the Buffalo performs at 8 p.m. Friday at Revolution Live, located at 100 SW Third Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $27. Call 954-449-1025, or visit jointherevolution.net.

Fri., Dec. 28, 8 p.m., 2012
