How can you not love a performer who writes, “If I ever stop finding music challenging and life-altering, I’ll quit and become an accountant.” There is little danger this will happen with Jonathan Biss, who the Boston Globe called, “a very significant instrumental and musical talent.” Equally invested in performing, teaching and writing about music, Biss is one of the most acclaimed and dynamic young pianists in the world. He’s thoughtful, too, and we share what he describes as “a special affection for small halls.” His performance of Beethoven, Schumann, Berg and Ades in the intimate Amaturo Theater will surely be the piano event of the season.
