Art galleries be damned, Artserve is kicking up the idea of an installation with its RedEYE 2013, a mashup of gallery and street art. This underbelly art exhibit features live art, bands, indie films, comics, fashion, and more. Food trucks will assemble outside to feed the hungry art lovers. RedEYE gives attendees the chance to not just view art but be a part of art. Live performances and interactive pieces create a living, breathing installation. Artserve is growing their pieces with a new installation from Torche Perkins, a metal sculptor and designer who is currently on HGTV’s Brother vs. Brother.
Urban realist artist Miguel Paredes will graffiti a RedEYE limited-edition custom dashboard for the new Fiat at the event. It continues the project started by Abstrk last year in which he tagged the outside of the car. Graffiti challenge Cans to Canvas, extreme art fashion show, and an indie film festival round out the 2-D and 3-D art pieces.
