Back in middle school science class, you might have used an orange to power a light bulb or two potatoes to run a digital clock. The reason it works is the acid in the fruit creates a chemical reaction between two metal electrodes, which produces electricity. A single orange, lemon, or potato may be able to power a small clock. But this video takes the whole fruit battery thing to another level.
YouTube user SuperJOrange took 2,380 orange slices, wired them together in a voltaic sequence, and used them to power an ordinary iPhone from empty to full. The result is a pretty stylish video and a lot of spent fruit.
