It doesn’t have to be October to get a taste of good, German beer.
You can do that on May 14 at Checker’s Old-Munchen. The German-American restaurant and bar in Pompano Beach is holding its monthly biergarten party from 9 to 10:30 that night. Put on your finest lederhosen and stop in for samplings of eight German beers ranging from crisp Vienna-style lagers to strong dunkels and doppelbocks. To go with the suds, the restaurant will serve complimentary brats, sauerkraut, pretzels, and liverwurst. Plus there will be raffles and door prizes for all. Entry is $15 a head.
