No. 53: Fish Tacos from Kahuna Bar & Grill in Deerfield Beach

Whenever I sit down at the bar in Kahuna’s the waitress’ always try and hand me a menu but  there’s no need because I know exactly what I want: fish tacos! I don’t think I’ve ever actually ordered anything else, and with good reason. The tortillas always come out warm and the slightly grilled fish is fresh and juicy. They don’t scrimp on the fish either, it’s not little chunks like at some places. At Kahuna’s you get thick slabs of fresh fish. The toppings are the usual lettuce, cheese, and pico de gallo but when they all come together over the freshly made tortilla it is more than just a meal. As the flavorful juices inevitably run down your hand don’t be embrassed to lick it up, no one else is. Even for someone who’s never eaten them, Kahuna Bar & Grill’s fish tacos have a way of making you feel at home in the South Florida heat.
