Does anyone else not care even a dusty fart’s worth about the Rolling Stones’ 50th anniversary?
If anything, it’s kind of embarrassing.
Are you really gonna drag out that tired, crippled, wheezing dog-and-pony-show again? Do you really believe Mick Jagger is still “dissatisfied?”
And besides, why do you want to watch a Civil War reenactment when you could be air bombing the mountains of Tora Bora?
In other words, maybe you should check out British glam revivalists, the Darkness.

Because in addition to writing songs about babes, rockin’, rollin’ and various other activities — solo and in every possible combination — the Darkness also manage to cram 60 years of rock ‘n’ roll into one band.
Not only do we hear shades of the aforementioned Stones. But you can bet your x-tra bee-stung pouty lips that there’s some Aerosmith mixed in there. And some AC/DC, Motley Crüe, Guns ‘N’ Roses, Journey, and Rock of Ages starring Tom Cruise.

The Darkness at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013. Revolution Live, 100 SW Third Ave, Ft. Lauderdale. Advance tickets cost $23 and go on sale Friday, November 16, at 10 a.m. at the Revolution Live Box Office (no fees!) and all Ticketmaster outlets. Call the Box Office at 954-449-1025 or visit jointherevolution.net
