So maybe Crossfade and County Grind are living separately, but our
split was completely amicable. Here are a few stories reported recently
via Miami’s raddest music blog that we want to make sure our readers see.
- School of Seven Bells: ethereal, gorgeous melodies featuring a dude from Secret Machines and On!Air!Library! alums Alejandra and Claudia Deheza. Why we care right now? Grand Central on October 16, dears.
- Surfer Blood’s J.P. Pitts was wearing a Dead Meat T-shirt (we need one!) during the band’s recent performance in Miami, and the bromance continues via some of those MySpace/Twitter networks. The news: the Miami band will release a new 7-inch this fall via FSS.
- Kid Sister’s song “Right Hand Hi” is caaaaatchy. So is “Family Reunion” and “Pro Nails” featuring Kanye West. There’s a good chance that the young hip-hop star will perform all three of these songs when she visits Grand Central in Miami on June 26. Jose D. Duran would like you to not sleep on her opening act, Maluca. So don’t do that.
- Deer Tick recently released one of the best albums of its illustrious alt-country career, The Black Dirt Sessions. Hear the bros in a live context on July 28 at White Room.
