Boca Raton’s Mizner Park is next up to receive its very own Yard House, a 10,000 s.f. behemoth of a restaurant that offers 130 taps and seating for 400. The restaurant chain plans to open one restaurant a month around the country beginning in March of 2012. The Boca Raton location is on schedule to open in July of 2012, with plans to hire 200 employees.

Yard House maintains restaurants

in Coral Gables, Hallandale Beach, and Palm Beach Gardens, pegging

Florida as the state second to California in number of locations.

CEO Harald Herrmann says Florida and Texas real estate opportunities in

particular will lead to the chain’s expansion in both states. “All of

our restaurants tend to be around 10,000 square feet,” he said. “And

it’s not always easy to find a location that can accommodate that size.

It just so happens that things have come together in Florida so that

we’re able to open a fourth location.”

Yard House was founded in Long Beach, California by Steele Platt in

1996. The concept centers around an extensive tap beer selection,

will debut in Virginia, New York, Massachusetts, California, Georgia,

Colorado, and Oregon over the course of 2012.
