Chain sushi joint RA Sushi has long been an active contributor to charity organizations. It’s annual Nicky’s Week event held in early June each year has raised more than $700,000 for the St. Jude Research Children’s Hospital. And tomorrow, its inaugural “Roll ‘N With RA” sushi contest held at the RA Sushi in Downtown at the Gardens will see proceeds donated to one lucky local charity.
The contest, held from 5 to 7 p.m., will gather representatives from
four local charities who will each
craft a signature sushi roll. A panel
of judges along with the crowd will choose which roll is the best in
regard to creativity, ingredients, presentation, and taste. The winning
roll will earn a spot on RA’s menu through the end of August, with
proceeds from its sale going toward charity.
The four charities
— Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County,
Make-a-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida,
Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, and the
South Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure — will be on
hand to accept donations, and special happy hour pricing will be in
effect throughout the event. Now that’s conscious eating.
