American Idol fifth-season winner Taylor Hicks will sing for the first 400 guests at Dirty Martini (11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Ave.; 561-799-1115) on June 1. The new martini bar opens this week in Palm Beach Gardens.
Cleve Mash, a veteran of lounge clubs around West Palm Beach, is behind Dirty Martini, located in the old Strip House space in Downtown at the Gardens. A raft of martinis and other cocktails, shared plates designed by Kubo chef Roy Villacrusis, and nightly dance music make up the bones of the place.
Hicks, the 2006 season winner, was the second man to win Idol and most recently has been touring with the Broadway production of Grease, playing Teen Angel. He’s also helped in benefit concerts for tornado relief in his home state of Alabama.
Hicks will perform for the first 400 guests at Dirty Martini June 1 at 9 p.m. Doors open at 4 p.m.
