Ditch the goth, punk, or metal attire for the night and add white powder
and red blood to your face. Wear a bikini or a banana hammock. Would a
foaming mouth be too much? No, not Saturday night. Not at this show:
It’s “zombie at the beach”-themed. Enough said… but we’ll
continue because we haven’t even gotten started on the bands yet. Sure,
there’s a brethren of fine party people who need only to hear that
stoner-metal band Torche will be performing that night. (If you
crave more Torche, you can find hundreds of words dedicated to the band here.)
They will be there, probably not in zombie
attire. And that will be their loss when it comes to the costume
contest. Winners will receive gift certificates ($100, $50, $25) to Aces
High Tattoo Shop as well as drink tickets. Nonzombies, you’ll have to
pay for your own tattoos and your own drinks. But there will be pleasing
drink specials like $3 Pinnacle vodka drinks, $2 Tecates, and $2 Jäger
shots. Furious Dudes, Kill Now!?, and Belt Buckle Death Sentence will
also perform. From 8 p.m. to 11 a.m., the Pupils Collective will paint a
mural on the side of Respectable Street, and other artists will paint
live in the back throughout the night to support the upcoming music/art
extravaganza Lake Worth-It.The night, presented by To Hell With Poverty and
Street (518 Clematis St., West Palm Beach). Call 561-832-9999, or visit
respectablestreet.com. 8 p.m. Saturday, July 17.
