We’ve heard of bringing a knife to a gunfight, but the cops say a Riviera Beach man brought a knife to a remote-control fight — which landed him in jail.

Riviera Beach police say Karim Palmer, 36, put a knife to the throat of one of his relatives — a 60-year-old man, according to United Press International.

That came after an argument over the television’s remote control on Sunday morning, although it’s not clear which programs the men wanted to watch.

An off-duty cop who was outside the house watched the older man run outside, where he grabbed a rake to fend off Palmer’s knife, UPI reports.

Palmer then came out of the house to continue the fight and was arrested, police say.

He was charged with aggravated battery but has since been released from jail, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

This is the second assault related to remote controls in the past few months, since Rita Sharon Counts was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly busting her husband’s head up with the channel changer.
