Ever flipped around the radio until you come to a song like “With Arms Wide Open” and found yourself frantically trying to change the channel? That same fear of Creed is apparently shared by wolves.

Thirteen-year-old Walter Eikrem tells TV2 in Norway that he was on his way home from the bus stop in the southern Norwegian town of Rakkestad when he was approached by four wolves. Remembering his mom’s lesson about not running away from wild animals, Walter pulled the ear buds out of his cellphone, blasting Creed’s song “Overcome.”

“The worst thing you can do is run away because doing so just invites the wolves to chase

you down,” Walter told the TV station. “But I was so afraid that I

couldn’t even run away if I’d wanted to.”

He also yelled and

flailed his arms, but common sense would point to the Creed playing on

his phone as the reason the wolves decided not to have a Walter

sandwich.

Creed, headlined by South Florida local Scott Stapp,

has surprisingly never before been credited with frightening wild

animals. But it’s likely their music will become a new standard of
