Better than: Your friendly, neighborhood trap boy’s latest mixtape
The foot was on the gas, and the artist who wants to be known as a “king remembered in time” didn’t let up on the pedal all night long. For the nearly sold out crowd at Revolution Live, Big K.R.I.T. didn’t waste time rushing from behind the curtains and pacing from end to end, starting off his set with “Return of Forever,” the first track from the critically acclaimed K.R.I.T. Wuz Here mixtape. Assisted by his hype man Big Sant, K.R.I.T. pulled off his first two effortlessly before letting Sant shine with his contribution.

no signs of wearing down after consecutive trunk-friendly bangers “R4
Theme Song,” “Just Touched Down” and “Sookie Now,” K.R.I.T. didn’t miss
a beat. With a flow reminiscent of the late UGK rapper Pimp C, he invited the
audience to travel back in time with him in his “Time Machine.”
Audience, fully cooperative, continued to take a ride as they circled
their hands in the air as if they were turning a steering wheel with
K.R.I.T. for the ride around anthem, “Rotation,” leaving the end hook
being said acappella.
One
break and a search for the drinkers and smokers later, K.R.I.T. eased in
with the mellow tune “Moons and Stars,” only to follow through with the
mixtape hit “Glasshouse” and “Made Alot” with partner Big Sant. With
middle fingers collaging the room, showing how much they just didn’t
give a fuck along with K.R.I.T., they continued with a night of karaoke
per say as “Children Of The World” dropped, leaving K.R.I.T. to sound
like a feature.
With
a shout out to Pimp C, K.R.I.T. began to perform a fan favorite
“Hometown Hero,” and then followed by his breakout hit “Country Shit,”
with the DJ mixing the first half of the second verse with fellow the
Mississippi native David Banner’s “Like a Pimp.” Showing his love for
the fans, the performer jumped from off the stage and interacted with
the audience as he continued.
No
better way to slow down the party than the honest, in depth “The Vent”
taking no less than 20 seconds into the song for the audience to become
silent, with a lingering sound of fans reciting the words underneath
their breath. It came to a solid ending with the new track “Money On The
Floor” featuring Eightball & MJG and 2 Chainz.

The Crowd: Cool guys wearing the latest snap back hats, a.k.a. one size fits all.
Personal Bias: Feels good to listen to some good ol’ Southern Hip-Hop that isn’t drowned in sizzurp.
