Yesterday we brought the story of a Haitian orphan — volunteers believe his name is Peterson Estelhomme. He has a large, malignant tumor on his neck. Republican Sen. George LeMieux is among the men and women working to bring the boy known as “Peter” to Broward General for life-saving surgery.
We have confirmation from the hospital that the patient is on the way and will be seen by doctors there shortly.
A hospital spokesperson confirmed that the patient will be admitted as soon as he arrives and immediately evaluated by physicians. He is traveling with a guardian.
