This weekend, the Associated Press confirmed a story first reported by Juice: that a search dog and handler were headed to Aruba in hopes of finally identifying the location of Natalee Holloway’s remains.
The AP’s story did not, however, reflect the same note of optimism that our source reported to us. Specifically, the handler’s belief that this time the 18-year-old girl’s remains would be recovered. The Aruban police have denied that there has been a break in the case. But considering how many breaks in the case have been dead ends and how that’s sparked criticism of Aruban authorities, the nation’s law enforcement has every reason to keep a lid on the case until one break finally proves to be the real deal.
