As Boca Raton’s only “place for improvisa-
tion,” the Sick Puppies have been training improvisation with seasoned and amateur comedians since forming in October 2012. Founder Casey Casperson’s tenures in Laughing Gas and THEY Improv have served him well as he “prides himself in his ability to train others” not only for comedic purposes for applications in the business fields and public speaking. This tightly knit crew of improvisational professionals does well in thematic settings, and there’s no better comedic mine than the holidays — a source it’ll surely get creative with Saturday, when its holiday show, its final performance for the year, starts tackling whatever situation the curtain’s rise will find. But it’s not really a “final” show per se, since the Pride Pups will perform a “Gay-prov” on Monday (December 22) at Andrews Living Arts, 23 NW Fifth St., Fort Lauderdale, with an improvisational and topical “Gay and Mary” holiday theme. Naughty, nice, and the fabulous alike will surely enjoy this treat from one of South Florida’s hardest working comedy troupes. Comedy’s always good, and it is especially good on those days leading up to family reunions, work get-togethers, and “Christmas Sweater”-themed parties we know you all surely love.
