As part of conceptual artist Elaine Reichek’s debut feature at the Boca Museum of Art, the Girls’ Club is hosting a discussion with her and curator Kathleen Goncharov to revel in Reichek’s progression as an artist. Having mastered the use of embroidery, knitting, and fabric through her artwork, Reichek will be the topic of a discussion that will focus on the artwork contained in her upcoming exhibition “Elaine Reichek: The Eye of the Needle,” spanning her expertise from 1972 to 1995. A New York native and resident, Reichek received a BFA from Yale University and a BA from Brooklyn College. Her exhibitions have been featured in pivotal museums across the globe, most notably the Museum of Modern Art in New York; the Wexner Center for the Visual Arts in Columbus, Ohio; the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Belgium; the Irish Museum of Modern of Art; and the Tel Aviv Art Museum.
Get a glimpse of Reichek’s artistic experience and help her prepare for her exhibition, lasting from May 3 to July 27, on Wednesday at the Girls’ Club, located at 117 NE Second St. in Fort Lauderdale.
