Kids. You’ve gotta feed ’em, clothe ’em, and house ’em for, what, two decades? On top of that, they expect to be entertained too? This weekend’s Coral Springs Festival of the Arts offers a cheap and easy way to keep everyone occupied. The two-day affair includes works by more than 175 artists and crafters, plus a cake-decorating challenge and kids activities like face painting, puppet shows, dancing, and games. Live musical performances are planned throughout the weekend, with everything from bluegrass and Latin jams to ’70s disco covers and ’40s big-band tunes. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday’s lineup includes Irish band Avalon and a bagpipe and drum outfit called House of Winston.
The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Walk, located at 2874 N. University Drive in Coral Springs. Admission is free, and arts and crafts will be available at varying price points. Call 800-739-0516, or visit csfoa.com. Tricia Woolfenden

Sat., March 16, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun., March 17, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 2013
