Bolstering awareness of Tomorrow’s Rainbow and its services, Riverwalk Trust is joining this local nonprofit to host Hope Floats, which honors, through the casting of a monumental float, those who have passed away. Acknowledging the need to nurture children, teens, and their families who have lost a loved one, Tomorrow’s Rainbow uses miniature-horse interactions and therapeutic play in an event that maintains a free-for-all mentality by offering a range of activities throughout the day. Families can enjoy a rock climbing wall, inflatable slide, face painting, coveted food trucks, live music from local band Magic Bus, games and prizes, and a raffle and silent auction. The event culminates with the launching of a memorial boat parade that includes a 24-foot paper boat to gain attention throughout downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Join this opportunity to construct a memorial float that will sail away into the sunset on Saturday at Esplanade Park, located at 400 SW Second St. in Fort Lauderdale, from 3 to 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. For those interested in contributing a paper boat to the float, boats can be purchased for $5 (small) or $25 (large). Call 954-978-2390, or visit tomorrowsrainbow.org.

Sat., March 8, 3-7 p.m., 2014
