The end of World War II not only brought about the end of worldwide Nazi oppression; it also marked the beginning of the United State’s fascination with Japanese culture. Today, that interest in all things Eastern has hit a fever pitch, as is evident by the throngs of Anime fanatics that flock to Japanese culture festivals. The Chibi-Pa Phenomenon is not just another one of these festivals, however — along with the requisite cosplayers and Anime booths, Chibi-Pa welcomes several television stars from the mega popular Permission Denied television show, which asks its contestants to traverse a nearly impossible obstacle course. Show your appreciation of all things Japanese when the Chibi-Pa Phenomenon hits the Palm Beach County Convention Center (650 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach) this Saturday and Sunday. The festivities begin at 10 a.m. each day and run through 7 p.m. on Saturday and 6 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets cost only $20 for the whole weekend and will be sold at the door. Visit www.chibipa.com for more information.

Sat., Sept. 27, 10 a.m.; Sun., Sept. 28, 10 a.m., 2008
