Haute cuisine continues its long colonialization of American peasant food this week. First it was lobster. Then shrimp. More recently, the burger. Now, it is the truck. Formerly roach motels with wheels, the food truck has, in recent years, established itself as a respectable source of cuisine. The food truck trend is now rolling deliciously over Florida. A convoy of seven will park itself in Pompano Beach to dish out international cuisine at the East Village Uncorked event. Fifteen participating restaurants are offering winetastings too, and there will be giveaways and specials, art exhibits, live music, and more.
East Village Uncorked happens on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., just west of the Intracoastal on East Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach. It’s free and open to the public. Call 954-786-7824, or visit pompanobeachcra.com.
