All right, so you managed to learn a few salsa moves by watching dance
tutorials on YouTube. That’s fine at first, but in the end, you’re
still just dancing with a computer. If you really want to experience
salsa dancing, you’ll need a partner. And Wednesday’s Latin Night
at Stage 84 is the perfect chance to cut your teeth on cutting a rug,
salsa style. From 9 to 10 p.m., salsa instructor Jose Amador is
offering lessons for newbs, er, novices learning the basics as well as
experienced dancers looking to up their game. And when class ends,
it’s party time until 2 a.m. — and then a month of practicing
before the next Latin Night. Soon, you’ll be making your own
tutorials. Just remember to disable the comments. Those are never nice.
Admission is free. Stage 84 is located at 9118 W. State Road 84 in
Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-474-5040, or visit stage84fl.com.
Every third Wednesday, 9 p.m.; Wed., Dec. 15. Starts: Nov. 17. Continues through June 1, 2010
