To be blunt, your kids know little about their bodies. Upon their birth, you became obligated to inform them on such things as sex, mucus, and pimples. So, we won’t be able to get you out of the sex talk, but we can send you to a place to help pass on the knowledge regarding the last two. “Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body” is the new hands-on exhibit at the Museum of Discovery and Science (401 SW Second St., Fort Lauderdale).

Your family can take the Tour du Nose and learn the nose’s three prime functions: as a smell sensor, air filter, and everyone’s gross favorite — mucus producer. The kids will be able to climb a large replica of human skin full of pimples, wounds, hair, skin blemishes, and warts. There’s plenty more: Make visits to the Burp Machine, Urine: the Game, Nigel Nose-It-All, the Vomit Center, Y U Stink, and Burp-Man, who’ll teach you and your loved ones about the physics of farting. Admission costs $9 to $11. Grossology runs until May 2. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Call 954-467-6637, or visit mods.org.

Mondays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.; Sundays, noon. Starts: March 2. Continues through May 2, 2010
