Delray’s 100-Foot Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and On the Avenue Holiday Event: Downtown Delray Beach is turning into a veritable winter wonderland (minus the snow, of course) on Thursday, December 4. In addition to fancy boats and cars, Santa is dropping in via helicopter for the tree lighting in Old School Square. To show off its holiday spirit, the city is attempting to beat the world record for largest gathering of people in holiday sweaters at 7:30 p.m. The party takes place from 5 to 10 p.m. Atlantic Avenue will be shut down to traffic; it will be flooded with food, music, art, and tons of holiday spirit.
