South Florida’s arts community may be disorganized, but if you don’t support your local arts scene, there won’t be a scene to support. Open Mic Nights are a great way to check out local talent, like the one held Fridays at Mega Bite Cyber Café and hosted by poetry slammer Renda Writer. It’s open to anyone who’s willing to take the floor for the sake of artistic expression. So have a drink, calm your nerves and hit the stage with your latest rant about the ills of society or that gal or guy who snubbed you downtown. Still too nervous? Watch others while enjoying a variety of beer, wine, champagne, coffee, tea, soup, and more.
