An integral feature of Arts for a Complete Education — a nonprofit organization that raises funds and advocacy for arts programs in Palm Beach County Schools — Race for the Arts supports up-and-coming student artists involved in music, drama, dance, photography, and all art programs. Since art isn’t art if you’re not having fun while creating it, the 13th-annual Race for the Arts/Color Me Fun Run offers a variety of ways to celebrate art and culture.
Participants can run or walk to support their favorite local arts programs, enjoy student entertainment and interactive booths, attend postrun parties, and partake of refreshments. Funds raised will go toward all schools that participate, with the minimum requirement of ten participants. To increase the effectiveness of this fundraiser, parents and teachers are urged to promote applicable arts programs.
Support this community-oriented vision Saturday at Dreher Park, located at 1100 Southern Blvd. in West Palm Beach. Register online at raceforthearts.org. Registration is open to the first 500 participants. The event takes place from 6 to 10 a.m. Call 561-329-9455, or visit the event’s Facebook page.

Sat., March 1, 6-10 a.m., 2014
