Santa Claus may have no problem crawling through chimneys on Christmas Eve — but that doesn’t mean the rest of us are OK with random smoke inhalation, especially when there’s a fresh plate of sushi on the table. It seems the folks at the Blue Fish in Delray Beach don’t share Santa’s affinity for smoky quarters. That is why their annual Christmas Eve party, the Eve Ball, is a smoke-free affair. Open to patrons 21 and up, the event will offer a night of dancing and dining, featuring sushi and drink specials and a DJ mixing it up for the dance-floor crowd. And for those under 21 but at least 18, perhaps Santa will throw in a pack of Marlboros as a stocking stuffer.

The party starts at 8 p.m. at the Blue Fish (110 E. Atlantic Ave., Ste 100, Delray Beach). Tickets cost $10 in advance and $20 at the door. Call 561-637-4441, or visit theeveball.com

Thu., Dec. 24, 8 p.m., 2009
