Oddly, spontaneity and fetish parties don’t go hand in hand — it is much better to plan ahead. It gets pricey last second — we will never say that it’s not worth the money — but we will always do our darnedest to save you a buck. Dressing the part is the key to success. This month’s Electrolust fetish party theme is Dark Carniville, and because it’s their yearly twisted-circus event, if you’re a woman and you dress as a clown, you get in for free! (Offer is good from 9 to 11 p.m.) If you’re in latex, it’s five bucks before midnight. It’s $10 for everyone from 9 to 11 p.m. or if you buy a ticket beforehand online. Alas, if you go last minute or happen to be a walk-in, it’s $20 — twice the amount of a movie ticket — unless you find a flier and get in for $15.

Which brings us to our next point: Why is a fetish party so much more entertaining than a bomb-exploding, bridge-collapsing blockbuster flick? Some of the specials are wonderful clichés: young, attractive women in naughty-schoolgirl type ensembles shaking their half-bare asses and spanking one another. But also, there will be visual spectacles galore: fetish performances and go-go dancing by Electrick Pixies, featuring Stacy Rojas and Geraldy October. Trinkette the Clown will host a midnight freak show. Gennaro and Julie of Righteous Ink Tattoo will put on a piercing show. Mistresz Diabolicka will have her Wheel of Torture & Fortune handy. Web Three will perform. And to top it all off, a Dark Carniville pie-throwing booth will have ya chucking pies. It is said you will have the opportunity to sling a pie at the face of the king of Electrolust himself, Josepher Ringleader. Circus starts at 9 p.m. at Downtown 28 (1828 Harrison St., Hollywood).
