The Paris-born Sleepless Night seems tailor-made for a town like Miami Beach, where hotel rooms are just a secure place to store your bags. This Saturday, the all-night celebration is back with 150 free cultural events from Mid Beach down to the Pointe. Trying to hit them all is futile, so here are a couple we’re particularly excited about.

Forming a gay performing arts festival might sound like bringing sand to the beach — isn’t every performing arts festival gay? — but that’s exactly what Out in the Tropics aims to do for Miami. To whet our appetites, they’ll host a buffet of performances called A Taste of Out in the Tropics at the Colony Theatre, headlined by the all-lesbian rock group BETTY. Kicking off the night at 10 will be gender-bending illusionist Adora, followed by an assortment of mixed-media performance, drag, and the Miami Gay Men’s Chorus. And no Sleepless Night would be complete without a road race in pajamas. Show up at Lummus Park (Ocean Drive and Eighth Street) in your most aerodynamic lingerie (footie PJs are probably not a good idea) at 6 p.m. for the Chipotle Pajama Run. The one-mile race is free to watch and free to enter; just pre-register at runmiami.com.
