50 Shades of Masquerade

Asian fusion? Check. 50 Shades of Grey reference? Check. Hot DJ ready to make the dance floor jump? Check. The theoretical checklist for Tokyo Blue’s Fusion Fridays’ kickoff certainly has the right boxes ticked off and with the clubby eatery readying itself for 2015, what better way than with a weekly themed party that draws on the mainstream acceptance of poorly written erotic fan fiction? Well, that’s being a little harsh — Tokyo Blue’s 50 Shades Masquerade will definitely have better grammar and a better soundtrack flowing through the night. Ladies drink free from 9 p.m. until midnight, and DJ Amanda Blaze, known for her stints at Jay Z’s 40/40 Club in New York City and the Barclay’s Center Club during the Brooklyn Nets’ home games, will keep it fun with a Top 40 and hip-hop set. This 21-and-over party costs $10, and advance tickets are available. Mobile Mike will be handy giving away movie passes and other such. They might want you to “dress to impress,” but that’s more of a cue to take from the suggested subject matter, though do keep in mind that some folks might be finishing their dinners. Tokyo Blue is inside the Ocean Manor Resort, 4040 Galt Ocean Drive, Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-566-2122, or visit tokyobluefortlauderdale.com.
